In the context of the EU-funded project ACCESSIBILITECH, DIGITALEUROPE is organising a webinar The Accessibility of eLearning solutions in crisis times.

This webinar is dedicated to discussing the state-of-play regarding accessibility and user-centered design of eLearning solutions and their relevance in crisis times.

Join this webinar to know more about the accessibility of eLearning environments, the existing barriers, the policy context, and possible solutions that can improve students‘ experience at the risk of exclusion.

Vltava Run poslepu: pozvání pro zrakově postižené do týmu Nadace Leontinka

Nadace Leontinka se letos již po šesté zúčastní běžeckého závodu Vltava Run, který se uskuteční v termínu 14. – 15. května 2022. Pro tento závod hledá nové posily do týmu zrakově postižených běžců.

Vltava Run je dálkový běžecký závod v délce 360 km a běží se nonstop ze Šumavy do Prahy během jednoho víkendu. Naše štafeta je složená z dvanácti zrakově postižených běžců a dvanácti trasérů, každá dvojice absolvuje v rámci závodu 3 etapy v celkovém součtu kolem 30 km. Závod se běží v různém terénu, v lese, po cestách, ale také hodně po cyklostezkách a malých silničkách.

Nadace Leontinka zajišťuje dopravu po celou dobu závodu (jezdíme dvěma malými autobusy), ubytování z pátka na sobotu na Šumavě, speciální dresy s reflexními prvky a pojištění, to vše pro zrakově postiženého běžce i jeho traséra. Běžec musí mít jen sportovní oblečení a obuv na běh (i náhradní), spacák, karimatku, čelovku a červenou blikačku.

Společný odjezd z Prahy je v pátek 13. května v 16 hodin (sraz na Vítězném náměstí v Praze 6 je v 15.30). Do cíle dobíháme obvykle v neděli večer.

Závod Vltava Run je náročný, ale běžíme ho se zrakově postiženými běžci již po šesté a vždy je to skvělý zážitek pro všechny zúčastněné. Byli bychom moc rádi, kdyby se nám podařilo získat do týmu nového člena. Ideální je, pokud je schopen zaběhnout 10 km v lehčím terénu za 60 minut (nebo méně samozřejmě).

ICCHP-AAATE 2022: 36 reasons to come to Lecco, Italy

ICCHP-AAATE, the Joint International Conference on Digital Inclusion, Assistive Technology & Accessibility, is taking place 11-15 July 2022 in beautiful Lecco, Italy. If you work in the field of Assistive Technology (AT), (e)Accessibility, Accessible ICT, and Digital Accessibility, you have at least 36 reasons to be there.

For the first time in three years, ICCHP-AAATE 2022 will bring together our expert communities in digital inclusion, assistive technology, and accessibility by providing a platform to learn from and complement each other, find synergies, and new ways for cooperation.

We have already received a wonderful number of Science, Research, and Engineering Contributions, which are being peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee for presentation at the conference and for publication.

Special Thematic Sessions

Thirty-six Special Thematic Sessions (STS) have been proposed, which are the opportunity for experts working in very particular and specific domains to set up and chair focused sessions on topics ranging from “Accessible and Inclusive Digital Publishing” to “Tactile Graphics and 3D Models for Blind People and Recognition of Shapes by Touch” and “Robots for Children”, passing by many more. Inclusion Forum

While the deadline for the STS has passed, submissions are still possible for the Inclusion Forum (deadline 1st June) which will feature:

  • workshops, seminars, tutorials/educational sessions
  • policy Sessions with panel discussions and/or consensus-building sessions
  • posters, project, product and service exhibitions, presentations, and demonstrations
  • meetings in open or closed (invited only) format

Young Researchers Consortium

If you are a young researcher writing your bachelor/ master/Ph.D. thesis, or doing new research in Assistive Technology, e-Accessibility, Technology & Ageing, or related topics, we invite you to participate in the Young Researchers Consortium.

This Consortium addresses the next generation of experts and researchers in AT and will give them the opportunity to present their work, discuss the current state and future steps of their research with peers and experts, learn about research in this field from experienced researchers, meet new people doing research and have fun!

Applications are possible until 1st May.

About the ICCHP-AAATE 2022 Joint Conference

The ICCHP-AAATE Joint Conference will take place 11-15 July 2022 at the premises of Politecnico di Milano, Polo Territoriale di Lecco (Italy). It focuses on Assistive Technology (AT), (e)Accessibility and Accessible ICT as well as social, economic, and political Inclusion and Participation of people with disabilities and older adults. The conference highlights the role of technology for independent living, participation and inclusion and improved services and support.

By its nature, the conference is concerned with a wide range of topics in interdisciplinary research, product and service development, practice, legislation, economics, and policy in evolving and fast-advancing disciplines and related fields. The conference is open to all visionary ideas and future-oriented thoughts supporting our mission, from all over the globe.
