Join Me at WebExpo 2026: My Accessibility Picks and a Chance to Win a Free Ticket

The year is running fast, and that means one thing: WebExpo is coming back to Prague! Believe it or not, I have been part of the WebExpo story since 2009. That’s 17 years of pushing for better UX and inclusion. Back then, accessibility was a topic very few people cared about in the tech world. But at WebExpo, it has a long tradition. We’ve worked hard for nearly two decades to show that building for everyone is not just a „nice-to-have“ feature, but a core part of professional craft.

I’m already looking forward to the amazing atmosphere and meeting old friends. This year, I had the pleasure of writing a comprehensive guide for the official WebExpo blog. If you want to know all the details about the „Big Five“ accessibility sessions – including Oliver Schöndorfer‚s typography, Peter Leško‚s design system at Tatra Banka, or Eric Bailey’s take on ARIA – you can find the full article here:

Why you should look beyond „Accessibility“ talks

On Poslepu.cz, I always try to look at the bigger picture. Accessibility doesn’t start with code; it starts with understanding people. That’s why I recommend checking out some of the research and product talks as well.

For example, Nick Fine will be talking about Scientific Design. He argues that most teams fail because they build on hope and opinions. This is exactly what we face in accessibility – too many assumptions, not enough testing with real users. I’m also curious about Christiane Moser and her Product Experience Mapping. These are the skills that help us push accessibility from „a technical checklist“ to „a core business priority.“

More than just sessions: The power of community

For me, WebExpo has always been about more than just sitting in a dark room watching slides. It is a giant living room for our community. After 17 years, it feels like a yearly reunion with old friends and a chance to make new ones.

Networking is where the real „magic“ happens. Some of my best ideas and professional partnerships started during a chat in the hall or a drink at the party. Building a network of people who care about the same things is what keeps us moving forward. Whether you are an accessibility veteran or a complete beginner, don’t be afraid to start a conversation. We are all there to learn from each other.

Let’s Meet at the Discussion

One of the things I’m most excited about is our panel discussion Accessibility in practice. We are bringing it back after last year’s success! Since I’ve seen how the industry changed since 2009, I love these honest conversations about the real struggles and deadlines we all face. It’s the perfect place for your tricky questions. No PR talk, just real-world experience.
